Golf Hosts One-Day Temple Spring Invite Saturday

PHILADELPHIA - Temple Golf will welcome Rider, Saint Joseph's and Villanova to its 6,987-yard, par-70 home course, The 1912 Club in Plymouth Meeting, Pa., for the one-round Temple Spring Invite Saturday. The tournament will commence with a shotgun start at 12:45 pm.Â
Scouting the Owls
> Junior Conor McGrath continues to lead the Owls with a 74.17 stroke average. He has played all 12 rounds on the season, placing first on the team in two of four tournaments.
> Senior Dawson Anders, who had his best outing of the year last week at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate (t-3rd, +2), averages 74.83 strokes per round. Â
> Senior Peter Bradbeer (75.25), sophomore Graham Chase (76.08) and junior Buddy Hansen (77.22) round out the Temple starting five.
> Sophomore Andrew Curran (81.50) will also compete as an individual. Â
The Field
> This will be the first tournament that Villanova and Temple compete in this season, but the Owls and Wildcats will meet again next Monday and Tuesday at the Wildcat Invitational.
> Temple and Rider both competed at the Connecticut Cup (April 1-3). The Owls placed third with the Broncs placing 11th.
> The Owls and Hawks met in tournament play once this season with Temple placing sixth and SJU finishing 15th at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate.
