5.6.21 | Women's Basketball
PHILADELPHIA — Temple women's basketball graduate student Jada Graves has been named an Academic All-District honoree by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), as announced by the organization Thursday afternoon.
The 2020-21 Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be
announced in late May.
Graves joins the likes of Kailey Coffey (Northern Kentucky), Dana Evans (Louisville), Kysre Gondrezick (West Virginia), Kelly Jekot (Penn State) and Abby Kapp (Bucknell) as District II honorees.Â
A graduate transfer from Elon University, Graves recorded a 3.61 GPA during the Fall 2020 semester at Temple as she works towards a master's degree in Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship. On the court, the guard shot 47.5% from the floor and registered 23 steals during her solo season with the Owls. At Elon, Graves earned the Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Year title at the conclusion of the 2017-18 season. Graves ended her playing career averaging 4.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.2 assists per game.Â
