Women's Basketball Announces 2021-22 Schedule

PHILADELPHIA – The full 2021-22 Temple women's basketball schedule has been set as the Owls and the American Athletic Conference released the complete non-conference and conference schedules today.
To open the season, Temple will face off against St. Francis on Nov. 9. After a brief road trip to Florida Gulf Coast three days later, Temple returns to Philly for three straight home games against St. John's, Bucknell, and Princeton (Nov. 17-Nov. 23).
As November meets December, three straight road contests against Villanova (Nov. 27), Georgetown (Nov. 30), and Duquesne (Dec. 5) bring the Cherry & White into their final stretch of non-conference games. From there, Temple will look to protect its home court against Saint Joseph's on Dec. 11 before flying to Evanston, Ill. for a matchup against Northwestern (Dec. 17).
To cap off non-conference play, Temple enjoys the next two games at home against Old Dominion and La Salle on Dec. 22 and Dec. 29, respectively, before making the 20-minute drive to Penn to take on the Quakers (Jan. 11) after the opening three conference games.
"I am very excited to get a full non-conference schedule under our belt this year after we were not able to do so last year because of COVID-19," Head Coach Tonya Cardoza said. "We have a great mix of local and regional opponents that I think will provide a strong test for our team before the beginning of conference play."
As the new calendar year rolls around, the Owls start with a road clash at UCF on Jan. 2. Temple's first home game of conference play sees SMU come to town on Jan. 5 before making a quick trip to take on the Cincinnati Bearcats (Jan. 8) at Fifth Third Arena. Exactly one week later, Temple finds itself back in Philadelphia for a home game against Houston before preparing for back-to-back road games against ECU (Jan. 19) and USF (Jan. 22).
The season's second meeting against the Bearcats sees the Owls take on Cincinnati on Jan. 26 ahead of a road trip at Memphis three days later. The next week is kind to the Owls' wings as Temple hosts Wichita State (Feb. 2), ECU (Feb. 6), and USF (Feb. 9) for three consecutive home games.
After the home stint, the Owls end the season alternating home and away games. Home games against Tulsa (Feb. 12), Houston (Feb. 23), and SMU (Mar. 2) are separated by road contests against UCF (Feb. 19) and Tulane (Feb. 26).
The 2022 American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Championship tournament is scheduled for March 7-10th in Fort Worth, Texas.
