Men’s Soccer Hits the Road for Final Trip of the Season

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple men's soccer team (4-8-2, 1-6-0 AAC) will head to Alabama for their final road trip of the 2022 campaign. The Owls will pay a visit to UAB (3-8-3, 1-4-2 AAC) in their first-ever meeting with Blazers.
THE OWL POST
> Mike Eijgendaal has six assists this season. He is tied for fourth in the AAC in total helpers and 44th in the NCAA.
> Following scoring last match against No. 22 Tulsa, Yann Kouemi stands alone for the Temple lead in goals (4). He ranks 7th in shots in the American per match (26).
> Four players on the roster have topped over 1000 minutes. Draven Barnett leads the group with 1,095. Defender Elyad Shojaei ranks in second with 1,068, while Mike Eijgendaal trails closely with 1,060. Fridtjof Andberg rounds out the 1000 club with 1,026.
> Goalkeeper Eoin Gawronski is ranked 10th nationally in saves per match (5.20). Temple as a whole is ranked eighth in saves per game (5.36).
SCOUTING UAB
> UAB has not put up a winning record since 2014. This is the men's soccer program's first year in the American after playing in Conference USA from 1995-2021.
> The Blazers have struggled with a tough schedule in 2022. UAB is currently 3-8-3, however, five of their eight losses have come at the hands of teams that have been ranked in the top ten at some point this season.
> Goalkeeper Jack Hudson has been one of the best goalkeepers in the American this season. He ranks second in saves per match (4.33) and first in total saves (52).
> Jeff Kinney leads UAB in his 4th season. He has amassed a record of 11-44-7 during his time in Alabama.

> These two programs have never met. This is the first season the two sides have shared a conference.
