Adam Klein Isaac Moore

A Brotherhood at Temple Football

10.6.22 | Football

People often reference a brotherhood that takes place when a football team begins to have success. It's so common, it has become cliché.

At Temple University, offensive linemen Adam Klein and Isaac Moore were first introduced to each other. They both have been dominating this offensive line for over five years now. In both of their football careers they made great accomplishments since the start of their freshman year.

Isaac Moore was pulled in from Orebro, Sweden to play college football. Moore joined the Owls in January of 2018. He started as a freshman in 2018 making him part of the only freshmen starting tackling duo in the nation. Isaac is one of two four-time letter winners along with Adam. Moore was able to earn a single-digit which is one of Temple's traditions given to players that lead by example on and off the field.

Adam Klein was born and raised in Springfield, Pennsylvania. Klein was also part of the 2018 recruiting class and his first career start was against Tulsa. Klein started all five seasons with the Owls since his freshman year. Like Moore, he is a four-time letter winner, earned a single digit, and in addition, he was voted captain.

Moore and Klein have played with each other for five seasons. The special bond that they have created together is unbreakable. They both learned from each other on and off the field which led them to have a strong chemistry. They are exceptionally great leaders. Always looking for ways to strengthen the Owls offensive line. Moore and Klein are known to be this powerful dynamic duo that Temple has never had. They assuredly dominate together.

Offensive line coach Chris Wiesehan said the special part about their bond is their passion for the game of football. "They came into Temple playing at a higher level of football. Adam started 10-plus games for me as a freshman. Issac played every game and started three as a freshman." He emphasized that the upperclassmen really shaped and molded Klein and Moore to be great linemen. Coach Wiesehan stated that Adam and Isaac are shaping this current offensive line to perform at a higher level of football. Said Wiesehan, "When the team is player led you have a great chance in becoming a great team." When asked besides football, what do Adam and Isaac bring to this football team specifically? Wiesehan stated, "Isaac is an empathetic person with a kind heart. He is big on community service and giving back to the community. Adam is big on professional development. Adam emphasizes to the underclassmen the importance of having internships and learning how to network."

When asked what was the special part about their bond, Adam replied, "the relationship is more than just football, it's a lifelong brotherhood relationship. I know ten years from now Issac will be a part of my wedding, you will be able to have lifetime events with guys like Isaac." And Isaac added, "relationships that I have built at Temple will last a lifetime. I will never forget Temple University; it will always be a part of me and my life." Adam and Isaac said their bond is stronger than blood. They both reiterated that they didn't need to be blood related to call one another brothers.

Isaac expounded on why this brotherhood really means a lot to him. "Without my teammates I would've quit this sport a long time ago, but knowing I had my brothers/teammates I stuck right beside them." Adam included the biggest part about brotherhood for him is "honesty and support. Adam knows he can count on his teammates in tough situations. He holds each of his teammates accountable for their words and actions. The thought of knowing your whole team will have your back in any situation you're put into is a true testament to brotherhood."

Despite Adam and Isaac football schedules they manage to still be able to spend time with each other outside of football. In their free time they like to grab dinner with one another or with the whole offensive line. Adam and Isaac love playing video games and watching movies together.

As the veteran leaders of the offensive line, Klein and Moore would like to see the offensive line continue to improve. Isaac stated, "we need to play better as a unit, we need to find ways to have clear communication and trust your teammate that they are going to do their job. Adam emphasized that it needs to be all five players consistent and make key plays to improve that run game. Isaac quoted "if we play with more ferocity our team will be just right."

Wiesehan added, "out of the five games we played we have done different line ups for each of those games. I think we have been protecting the quarterback at a high level. We're growing on communication skills; I think we need to improve on running the ball efficiently. When you have guys playing together in the mindset of one line, one band, one sound, you get a lot more accomplished."

Individually Adam and Isaac mentioned there are some improvements they need to make as offensive linemen to have a successful season. Adam said he needs to improve on his lower pad level and make sure he is using his hands appropriately. Isaac mentioned he needs to work on playing lower. He said, "I need to play hard and never let off."

Adam shared his goals for this team; he hopes to win championships and bowl games. He always had a winner mindset and that is what he hopes for this young team.

These talented linemen were asked who in the NFL inspire them or they look up to. Isaac mentioned a former Temple football player, Dion Dawkins. He is a left tackle for the Buffalo Bills. Isaac said, "he is way very athletic for a left tackle." Adam mentioned former Temple football player Matt Hennessy is a player he looks up to. He emphasized how Matt always had a plan if football didn't work out and that is what inspired Adam the most.

Adam and Isaac are both graduate students at Temple University. Isaac mentioned he wants to play football in America as much as he can. If football doesn't work out, he wants to move to Southern Europe and pursue student teaching. Adam would love to extend his career and play in the professional league. If football doesn't work out, he would love to be a football coach in the future.
