Men’s Soccer Set to Face Memphis

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple men's soccer team (2-6-2, 0-4-0 AAC) will play host to the Memphis Tigers (5-2-3, 2-1-1 AAC) this Sunday at the TSC. Both squads will be looking to rebound after difficult stretches of the schedule.
THE OWL POST
> Mike Eijgendaal has five assists this season. He is tied for fourth in the AAC in total helpers.
> Yann Kouemi leads Temple in goals with three.
> Five players on the roster have topped over 700 minutes. Elyad Shojaei leads all Temple players with 806 minutes. He is followed by Eijgendaal and Fridtjof Andberg, with 772 and 739, respectively. Draven Barnett and Luka Kozomara round out the 700 club with 735 and 207 minutes played.
> Goalkeeper Eoin Gawronski is ranked second nationally in saves per match (6.0).
SCOUTING MEMPHIS
> The Tigers had a very rough start to the 2021 season, earning a 1-5-1 record in their first seven games. Memphis rallied in the back half of their schedule to post a 5-4-1 record in the American and earn the #3 seed in the AAC Tournament.
> Memphis is 5-2-3 on the year and 2-1-1 in the American. Memphis has received votes in two editions of the United Soccer Coaches Poll and has been ranked No. 24 and No. 22 in the TopDrawerSoccer rankings. They most recently tied No. 13 Charlotte.
> The Tigers' have a host of talented players. Alberto Cruz and Lineker Rodrigues dos Santos both rank in the top 10 goal scorers in the American. Hayden Anderson places fourth in the AAC in assists.
> Richard Mulrooney leads Memphis in his ninth season. He is 55-66-20 during his time with the Tigers. The highlight of his tenure thus far came in the 2018 and 19 seasons, when Memphis earned back-to-back winning records.
