No. 11 Fencing Heads to Garret Open

PHILADELPHIA - The No. 11 Temple fencing team will get one last chance for a preseason tuneup, heading to Penn State for the Garret Open on Nov. 5 to close out individual competition.
The Owls had a successful season opener at the Temple Open last weekend, with seven fencers finishing in the top-15 and four finishing in the top-8. Margherita Calderaro (epee) earned her best career finish at the Temple Open after placing second, while Naomi Ross (epee) finished sixth.
Elizabeth Novoseltseva's sixth place finish led the foil squad, while Anna Novoseltseva (foil) placed eighth. Anastasia Yankovskiy earned a 10th placed finish to round out the foil top-15 finishers. Emma Pincus tied for ninth to lead the saberists and Diana Tiburcio's (sabre) 12th place finish rounded out Temple's Top-15 finishers.
Action in Happy Valley will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the White Building.
