PHILADELPHIA – After a historic fall season which included a run in the ITA Fall National Championship for two student-athletes, Temple women's tennis is set for a highly competitive spring season. Head Coach Steve Mauro has announced the 20-match schedule which is set to open on Jan. 20.

"We are coming off an extremely successful fall season, having one of the best performances in the history of the program," Mauro said. "I'm extremely pleased with the work ethic and drive of our student-athletes and we're really looking forward to continuing that success in the spring with the addition of some new team members."

The Owls will open the season on the road, traveling to Richmond, Va., to take on reigning Atlantic 10 Champions, VCU, on Jan. 20 for the season opener. Just one day later, the Cherry and White will welcome West Virginia for the home opener, which is then followed by six consecutive home matches to kickoff off the 2023 campaign.

The Cherry and White will take on Howard (Feb. 5), St. Francis NY (Feb. 10), Wagner (Feb. 12), FDU (Feb. 21), Norfolk State (Feb. 25), and Siena (Feb. 26) to close out the month of February, before seeing their first road test in over a month at Drexel on Mar. 8.

Temple will then return home to host Marist (Mar. 11), Delaware (Mar. 15) and Binghamton (Mar. 18) before starting a four-match road stretch that will begin with two Ivy League competitors, starting with Penn on Mar. 19, and Princeton on Mar. 24.

The Owls will travel to Virginia to take on Hampton (Mar. 25) and George Mason (Mar. 26), each of which will be played on the GMU campus.

The Cherry and White will come back to Philadelphia to host NJIT on Mar. 31, followed by a trip to Villanova on Apr. 4, before heading back to North Broad to host Georgetown on Apr. 14 for the last home match of the season.

With the AAC Championship fast approaching in April, the Owls will close out regular season play against Bethune-Cookman on the road on Apr. 16, before preparing for the AAC Championship that is set for Apr. 19-22 at the United States Tennis Association National Campus in Orlando, Fl.
