Owls in the NFL - Week 16

PHILADELPHIA- It was a Temple TUFF Christmas for our former Owls in Week 16 of the NFL, as it fell on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Let's see how the Owls performed despite record low temperatures across the NFL.
Dion Dawkins (2013-16), Tyler Matakevich (2012-15), and the Buffalo Bills beat the Chicago Bears, 35-13. Despite playing in the coldest regular season road game since 1967, Dawkins and the Bills offense were able to reach over 400 yards in the dominating victory.
William Kwenkeu (2016-21) and the Minnesota Vikings went up against former Owls Chris Myarick (2016-18), Quincy Roche (2016-19), and the New York Giants. Myarick and the Giants offense were able to comeback and tie the game, however the Vikings were able to prevail with a game-winning field goal in overtime.
Former Owls - Sean Chandler (2014-17), Sam Franklin (2016-19), Matt Ioannidis (2012-15), P.J. Walker (2013-16), and the Carolina Panthers got back in the win column this week with an impressive, 37-23 victory over the Detroit Lions. Ioannidis reeled in four tackles and one tackle-for-loss.
On Christmas Night, Todd Bowles (1982-85) and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers faced off against the Arizona Cardinals and former Owls, Robbie Anderson (2011-13, 2015) and Michael Dogbe (2014-18). The game ended in an overtime thriller with the Buccaneers winning, 19-16.
Hassan Reddick (2013-16), Shaun Bradley (2016-19), and the Philadelphia Eagles were unable to defeat NFC East rivals, the Dallas Cowboys, as they lost, 40-34. Reddick continues to impress, tallying four tackles, two sacks, one tackle-for-loss, and two quarterback hits.
Arnold Ebiketie (2017-20), Matt Hennessy (2016-19) and the Atlanta Falcons lost to the Baltimore Ravens, 17-9.
On Christmas Day, Brandon McManus (2009-12) and the Denver Broncos lost to the Los Angeles Rams, 51-14. McManus drilled a 54-yard field goal and 49-yard field goal to score six points for Denver.
