PHILADELPHIA - It's Week 13 in the NFL and with only four weeks remaining in the regular season, let's take a look at how some of our former Owls performed.
The action began on Thursday Night with an AFC East divisional matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the New England Patriots. Although Dion Dawkins (2013-16) was sidelined due to an ankle injury, Tyler Matakevich (2012-15) and the Buffalo Bills were still able to win, 24-10.
On Monday night, head coach Todd Bowles (1982-85) and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers faced off against NFC South division rivals, the New Orleans Saints. Bowles' boys were able to pull off a remarkable a 17-16 win thanks to a double digit fourth quarter comeback.
Hassan Reddick (2013-16), Shaun Bradley (2016-19), and the Philadelphia Eagles dominated in a 35-10 victory over the Tennessee Titans. Reddick had two tackles, one sack, and four quarterback hits while Bradley had a season-high three tackles.
William Kwenkeu (2016-21) and the Minnesota Vikings advanced to 10-2 this week with a 27-22 victory over the New York Jets.
Rock Ya-Sin (2018) and his Las Vegas Raiders defeated AFC West division rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers, 27-10, winning their third game in a row. Ya-sin had two tackles and one pass defended.
Chris Myarick (2016-18), Quincy Roche (2016-19), and the New York Giants went into overtime with NFC East division rivals, the Washington Commanders and tied, 20-20 for the first time since 1997.
With Arnold Ebiketie (2017-20) sidelined due to a forearm injury, Matt Hennessy (2016-19) and the Atlanta Falcons lost a close one to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 19-16.
Brandon McManus (2009-12), Jacob Martin (2014-17), and the Denver Broncos faced off against the Baltimore Ravens this week. Martin had two tackles and one tackle-for-loss, while McManus carried the team, scoring all nine points (3FGs) with a long of 52-yards. Unfortunately, it was not enough as the Ravens would prevail, 10-9.
Former Owls - Sean Chandler (2014-17), Sam Franklin (2016-19), Matt Ioannidis (2012-15), P.J. Walker (2013-16), and the Carolina Panthers had their bye week, as did Michael Dogbe (2014-18), Robbie Anderson (2011-13, 2015) and the Arizona Cardinals.
