Four Named NFHCA Scholars of Distinction

2.15.22 | Field Hockey

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - Four Temple field hockey players have earned NFCHA Division I Scholar of Distinction honors, with Dani Batze, Julia Bunch, Maddie Molchany, and Megan Phillips all being tabbed. This is the third-straight year the Owls have put at least three players on the list.

Batze is earning a master's degree and earned a 3.92 GPA during the fall 2021 semester for a cumulative GPA of 3.92. Bunch is an accounting major and earned a 4.0 GPA during the fall 2021 semester for a 4.0 cumulative GPA. Molchany is an early childhood education major and earned a 3.92 GPA during the fall 2021 semester for a cumulative GPA of 3.91. Phillips is a public relations and communications and social influence double major and earned a 4.0 GPA during the fall 2021 semester for a 4.0 cumulative GPA.

The Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2021-22 academic year.

The NFHCA has already announced the 2021 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad — the NFHCA National Academic Team awards will be announced on February 21 and the National Scholar-Athlete on February 23.
