Jahlil White Named Big 5 Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA – Freshman guard Jahlil White has been named the Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending February 27. White, who was also named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll, averaged 15.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game to help Temple split two games on the week.
In a 78-64 loss at Memphis, the Whitesboro, N.J. native tied his career scoring with a team best 17 points while also grabbing five rebounds. He shot six-of-10 from the field (2-4, 3pt). White followed that with his second career double-double, 13 points and career-high 12 rebounds in a 75-70 win over Tulane in a battle for fourth place in the conference. Overall, he made 11-of-21 (52%) from the field and 3-7 from three-point range (43%).
Temple (16-10, 9-6 AAC) next plays at AAC leader #14 Houston (24-4, 14-4 AAC) on Thursday. The game, which tips at 7 p.m., will be televised live by ESPN2.
