Women’s Tennis Set to Face Off Against Saint Francis Saturday

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's tennis is set to host Saint Francis (N.Y.) this Saturday, Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. The match will be played at the Hecht Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.

The Owls

The Owls made their 2022 debut on the road at VCU, where they dropped to the reigning Atlantic 10 champions, 5-2.
Despite the loss, newcomers Jamie Wei and Veronika Kulhava had dominant singles performances, securing two points from the No. 2 and No. 4 spot.
Last year, the Cherry and White posted a 9-2 record, including a perfect 5-0 home performance along with three sweeps.

Scouting the Terriers

The match against the Owls will serve as the season opener for the Terriers.
Last year, Saint Francis faced a string of cancellations during the regular season, allowing for only one match. The Terriers fell to conference opponent, Sacred Heart on the road by a score of 7-0.
The Terriers played five matches this fall, including competition against Siena, Queens, Fordham, Wagner and Monmouth.

Match Notes

The Owls are 1-0 all time against the Terriers with their last matchup coming in 2014. The Cherry and White had a dominant performance, sweeping Saint Francis, 7-0.
