Women’s Tennis Heads to Navy Friday

PHILADELPHIA – Coming off back-to-back wins, Temple women's tennis (5-2) is set to travel to Annapolis, Md., to match up against Navy (12-1) on Friday evening. The match is set for 5 p.m. and will have live results broadcasted through NavySports.com.

- After four matches in the last eight days, the Owls have advanced to 5-2 on the season, most recently defeating Farleigh Dickinson, 4-0 on Wednesday afternoon. The Owls took the doubles point after securing wins from the No. 1 and No. 2 position before claiming three singles points despite the remaining three sets going unfinished.
- Freshman Veronika Kulhava has proved to be a dominant force for the Owls, posting a 6-0 mark in singles play, earning three wins from the No. 1 spot, two from the No. 2 and one from the No. 4.
- Sena Takebe and Evie Wei have headlined the doubles efforts for the Owls this year, posting a 5-0 record, which included two wins in the No. 1 spot and three wins from the No. 2 position.
Scouting Navy
- The Mids enter the match with a 12-1 record, which includes a perfect 11-0 home performance as well as a five match win streak. The 12-1 start to the season serves as the second-best start in program history.
- Navy's only loss came in mid-February, when they dropped to Delaware, 7-0, which put an end to the Mid's season opening seven-match win streak.
- Emily Tannanbaum leads the way for Navy in singles play this season, accruing an 18-7 record, which includes an 8-1 mark from dual action performances.
- In doubles play, Katreina Corpuz and Meghana Komarraju have headlined the action, posting a 13-5 mark, currently on a 10 match win streak that dates back to the fall tournament season.
- The Owls and the Mids have only met in regular season play one time in program history, with that meeting coming in 2020. Temple dropped to Navy on the road by a score of 4-0.
