Men’s Tennis Set to Host Morgan State Wednesday

PHILADELPHIA – After a three-match weekend on the road, Temple men's tennis (8-5) is set to return home to host Morgan State (6-5) on Wednesday, Mar. 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cherry Hill Racquet Club.

- The Owls advanced to 8-5 in dual play this season after a 2-1 showing last week. The Cherry and White had a successful weekend, posting 7-0 sweeps over Hampton and Norfolk State, but falling to No. 60 Old Dominion, 4-1.
- On an individual level, Thibault Frumholz and Gregoire Barety are team leaders in singles play, each earning eight dual wins this season. Frumholz has posted an 8-4 mark, which includes competition from the No. 4, 5 and 6 positions while Barety has posted an 8-5 mark, playing across five different positions.
- The doubles pair of Marin Delmas and Louis Gorregues have proved to be a powerful force for the Cherry and White, posting a 5-3 record together, which included a 2-2 mark from the No. 1 position and a 3-1 performance from the No. 2 spot.
- The Bears enter the matchup with a 6-5 mark, most recently earning the win over nearby rival, Loyola. The Bears defeated the Greyhounds 5-2 after securing the early lead in doubles play and closing out the competition with four singles points.
- Morgan State competed at the MEAC Round-Up from Mar. 17 to Mar. 19, kicking off the weekend with a 7-0 win over Norfolk State, followed by a 4-2 loss to South Carolina State before working their way back to the win column with a 5-2 win over North Carolina Central on Sunday.
- The Bears have three athletes leading the pack in singles play in Nihit Rawal, Sebastian Lopez, and Niles Rachal, all who have secured seven wins from a range of different positions.
- The duo of Rawal and Rhajzon Rankins lead the team in doubles play, posting an 8-2 dual match mark from the No. 2 and No. 3 positions.
- The Owls are 1-1 all time against the Bears with their last meeting coming in 2018, where Temple defeated Morgan State 6-1 at home.
