TULSA, Okla. – Temple women's tennis (11-6), the eighth seed in the American Athletic Conference tournament fell just short of ninth-seeded South Florida (6-15) in the AAC quarterfinals on Wednesday evening. The Owls and the Bulls put it all on the line, battling it out until the very last point.
 
Notes 
  • The Owls opened the match with strong doubles performances from the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. Stefaniya Surikova and Jamie Wei earned a 6-1 win from the No. 1 spot while Veronika Kulhava and Yining Tian triumphed 6-4 to earn the team doubles point. 
  • Evie Wei was the first singles point on the board as she defeated Selin Yaylali of USF 6-2, 6-3 from the No. 6 position.  
  • USF halted the Owl momentum with a win from the No. 2 spot, but a strong performance from Tian in the No. 5 position stretched the Owl lead to 3-1. 
  • The Bulls gathered another point from the No. 1 position to inch in on the Owl lead. With only two points remaining, both the No. 3 and No. 4 positions advanced to three-sets.  
  • The Owls fought hard, but ultimately dropped from the remaining two positions to result in a 4-3 USF victory.
