Golf Sits Eighth After Second Round of 2022 AAC Championship

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Temple Golf finished the second round of the 2022 American Athletic Conference Championship in eighth place in the nine-team field on Saturday afternoon, as they improved four strokes from the first round to finish the day with a five-over 293. The three-day, 54-hole tournament is being held at the Southern Hills Plantation Club on their par-72, 7,274-yard course.
Recapping the Round
> Sophomore Graham Chase led the Owls with a two-under 70, courtesy of three birdies. He is currently at 38th overall with an eight-over 152.
> Junior co-captain Conor McGrath had a team-high five birdies on the day to finish the day at even-par 72. He is tied for 15th overall with an even-par 144.
> Senior co-captain Dawson Anders carded a two-over 74 to finish the day tied for 33rd overall (+5).
> Freshmen Ethan Whitney and Joey Morganti both shot a five-over 77 in the second round. Whitney is tied for 36th overall (+6), while Morganti is tied for 39th overall (+10).

> SMU dominated the second round to take the lead at 17-under for the tournament. Houston is in second place at 16-under, followed by USF (-3), Wichita State (-3), and UCF (-2). The Owls are 14-over after the second day.
> SMU's Nathan Petronzio leads the field by one stroke after the second round with a 10-under 134.
