Golf Finishes Eighth at 2022 AAC Championship

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Temple Golf finished in eighth place in the 2022 American Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship on Sunday afternoon. The Owls had their best round of the tournament with a one-under 287. The three-day, 54-hole tournament was held at the Southern Hills Plantation Club on their par-72, 7,274-yard course.
Recapping the Round
> Senior co-captain Dawson Anders had a team-high five birdies to lead the Owls with a two-under 70 for the round. He finished the tournament tied for 26th overall with a three-over 219.
> Freshman Ethan Whitney carded a one-under 71, courtesy of four birdies. He shot a five-over 221 to finish the tournament tied at 30th overall.
> Freshman Joey Morganti had his first eagle of the spring season on the 7th hole, as he fired a one-under 71 on the day. It tied for his lowest round of the season. He finished the tournament tied for 35th overall with a nine-over 225.
> Junior co-captain Conor McGrath shot a three-over 75 on the day, as he tied with Anders for 26th overall for the tournament.
> Sophomore Graham Chase carded a five-over 77 in the final round, finishing the tournament at 39th overall.
The Field
> SMU won the 2022 AAC Championship title with a 29-under 835, nine shots better than USF. Houston (-16), UCF (-6), and Cincinnati (-5) round out the top five.
> SMU's Nathan Petronzio shot a 13-under 203 to win the tournament title by two strokes over USF's Run Youprayong and Houston's Marcus Wochner.
