Temple Athletics Celebrates 117 Student-Athletes Earning Degrees in 2021-22 Academic Year

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University Athletics has a total of 117 student-athletes graduating this academic year, including 98 who participated in the 135th annual Commencement on Thursday. In all, just under 10,000 graduates Temple University students, 9,927 in total, earned degrees during the 2021–2022 academic year.
The 117 Owl student-athletes represent all 19 of Temple's intercollegiate sports. Football has the most graduates with 26, followed by 10 from women's rowing, nine from men's crew and eight from field hockey and women's lacrosse.
"I want to congratulate all of our young student-athletes and their fellow classmates who earned their degrees this year," said Temple University Vice President and Director of Athletics Arthur Johnson. "Graduation is the culmination of years of hard work in the classroom. I am happy for and proud of you; and wish you all the best in your professional endeavors for representing Temple so well."
Temple's class of 2022 has continuously raised the standard throughout their time on North Broad Street. The class has a combined GPA of 3.39 and is the seventh straight graduating class who has never seen the student-athlete population earn a semester GPA of less than 3.0.
It is truly a diverse graduating class of Owls with 50 major fields of study and different 13 different schools and colleges represented.
In celebration of the accomplishments of the graduating seniors, Temple Athletics held a toast for the student-athletes and their families on Monday, May 2. Each graduate was presented with a special student-athlete sash that was worn during the ceremonies.
