PHILADELPHIA – Temple wide receiver Amad Anderson Jr. was named to the preseason watch list for the 2022 Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse, as announced by the award's officials.

Anderson, a redshirt junior, transferred to the Owls in December 2020 from Purdue where he caught 36 passes for 362 yards and three touchdowns in 17 games. By season's end in 2021, Anderson was the Owls starting wide receiver (24 catches for 283 yards and two touchdowns) and primary kick (20.4 yard average) and punt returner (5.4 yard average).

The Paul Hornung Award is given annually by the Louisville Sports Commission (LSC) to the most versatile player in major college football. The Award was created by the LSC in January 2010 with the support of the Golden Boy himself, Paul Hornung, a native and lifelong resident of Louisville and member of the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame. The Paul Hornung Award has created an impressive legacy in 12 years including seven winners who were first round NFL draft picks – Tavon Austin, Saquon Barkley, Odell Beckham Jr., Christian McCaffrey, Jabrill Peppers, DeVonta Smith and Shaq Thompson. Houston speedster Marcus Jones won the Award in 2021 as a defensive back who returned kickoffs and punts and saw spot duty on offense. Jones was drafted by the New England Patriots.
