Capewell Completes Leadership Summit

PHILADELPHIA - Temple Assistant Athletics Director for Ticket Sales, Bob Capewell, recently completed the Villanova Leadership Summit, earning himself a course certificate and digital badge.

The two-day leadership summit was followed by an eight assignment, one month course focused on developing an authentic leadership philosophy, supporting student-athlete development, achieving competitive excellence, fostering compliance and community, and promoting athletic entrepreneurship.

The course also focused on developing a mission and vision encapsulated in a leadership philosophy that offers a way to live, learn, and lead every day in work and life. It required participants to commit to the "lonely work" of identifying their character strengths, values, beliefs, principles, and strengths and then crafting them into a living guide that will influence how they will communicate and respond authentically to people and events. By evaluating their self-awareness, morals, balance, and relational transparency, they crafted a philosophy that describes the best version of themselves as a leader, and one they will consistently rely upon.

"This was a fantastic learning experience for me that provided a framework to focus on further defining the Ticket Sales Department mission and my part in the long-term vision for building on recent successes and incrementally increasing attendance at Temple Athletics events," said Capewell.  "I want to thank Villanova Athletics for providing the opportunity to attend and complete this outstanding leadership summit."

During the summit, the participants were given the opportunity to hear from and network with other sports professionals as well as participate in workshops to further develop their leadership skills. Some of the athletics leaders in attendance were Mark Jackson, Villanova University Vice President and Director of Athletics, Jay Wright, former Head Coach of Villanova Men's Basketball, Chris Heck, former President, Business Operations of the Philadelphia 76ers, Mike Behan, Chief Operating Officer, College Partnerships, Legends, & Mike Schreiber, Founder and CEO, Playfly Sports.
