Men’s Soccer Set to Face Lafayette

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple men's soccer team (1-1-2, 0-0-0 AAC) will play match two of a four-game homestand when they take on the Lafayette Leopards Friday at the Temple Sports Complex. Attendance is free to all fans, the match will be streamed on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
> Temple drew the Penn Quakers on Labor Day 1-1. 
> Temple scored early with a goal from Mike Eijgendaal, assisted by forward Sean Karani. Penn later found the back of the net in the second half to tie the game and earn the draw.
> Freshman goalkeeper Micah Ramirez saw the action of his career after starter Eoin Gawronski left the match due to injury. Ramirez played well, making three saves in 15 minutes.

THE OWL POST
> Mike Eijgendaal continued his spectacular start to the year Monday. He has scored or assisted on all five goals thus in the season. His three assists have him tied for second in the conference and 16th in the country.
> Karani's assist Monday was the former First Team All-AAC selection's first point since April of 2021.
> Goalkeeper Eoin Gawronski is among the best shot-stoppers in the country. He leads Division I with 26 total saves and is fourth in saves per match his 6.5.
> Tonight will feature postgame autographs from the players and a limited number of signed posters given away post-match.

SCOUTING LAFAYETTE
> In 2021, the Leopards earned a 7-7-4 record.  
> After being picked to finish seventh in the Patriot League in the Preseason Poll, The Leopards are off to a strong start in 2022 with a 3-1 record. They have won three straight games entering tomorrow's match.
> Alex Sutton, Nick Hazel, and Yiannis Panayides were named Preseason All-Patriot League. Sutton was also named Preseason Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year. Sutton has impressed this year with a sub .50 goals against average.
> Dennis Bohn leads Lafayette in his 22nd season. Bohn has amassed a 174-139-70 record as a head coach for the Leopards, which includes three NCAA tournaments and three Patriot League titles.
