Owls Upset No. 10 Syracuse With 2-1 Victory

SYRACUSE, N.Y.- Rocco Haeufgloeckner's 89th minute goal secured an upset win for the Temple men's soccer team, as they defeated the No. 10 Syracuse 2-1 on Tuesday night. The win was the Owls' first over a ranked team in three seasons and their second in a row overall.
How it Happened
> The match remained scoreless for much of the first half until Lleyton Imparato found the net in the 36th minute. The Owls capitalized on a loose ball, with Tessho Kobayashi finding Imparato for his first assist of the season.
> Temple nearly made it 2-0 with just over eight minutes to play, as Juan Zepeda fired a close range shot that was stopped by the Syracuse goalkeeper.
> The Orange knotted things up at one with a goal in the 86th minute.
> Hauefgloeckner fired home the game winner less that 90 seconds later, sending it home in transition off an assist from Felix Ewald.

> The win was Temple's first over a ranked opponent since a 4-1 win over No. 23 Tulsa in April 2021. Their last triumph over a Top-10 team was earlier that year against No. 2 SMU.
> Hauefgloeckner's goal was the first of his collegiate career. He is the tenth different Owl to score this season.
