PHILADELPHIA, PA– Temple women's soccer (2-9-3)(0-5-0 AAC) recorded a 1-0 loss against the Rice Owls (3-10-1)(1-4-0 AAC) Thursday night. This marked the first match between the Houston Owls and the Philadelphia Owls.
How it Happened
- The first half began with the ball in the Rice Owls' defensive third.
- The Owls generated three corner kicks throughout the first half.
- Beky Myers kicked two shots for the Cherry and White, but the neither team could get on the board before the end of the half.
- Taylor Vecchione made a close-range save in the middle of the net and a block off of a corner kick to start the second half.
- Rice scored the go-ahead goal in the 80th minute.
- Temple ended the game with seven shots, eight corner kicks, and a save.

- Caroline Oestergaard started her first game of the season.
- Vecchione made one save for Cherry and White and started her fifth game of the season.
- Phoebe Hollin has kicked 60 corner kicks for the Cherry and White this season, taking seven against Rice.
