Women's Soccer Falls to UTSA on Sunday Afternoon

PHILADELPHIA, PA– Temple women's soccer (2-10-3, 0-6-0 AAC) recorded a 2-0 loss to UTSA (6-6-3, 1-3-2 AAC). This marked the first match between the Owls and the Roadrunners. Temple's 12 seniors were commemorated after the ceremony for their individual contributions and dedication to the team.
How it Happened
- The game began with action in the midfield before the Roadrunners scored a goal in the seventh minute.
- In the middle of the first half, Temple's offense gained momentum, leading to Beky Myers, Carly Steinberg, Alexa Swetz, Sumaya Togba, and Caroline Ostergaard each knocking a shot off for the Owls. The Cherry and White wasn't able to convert and went into halftime down 1-0.
- The second half began with a two-shot series from Myers and Anna-Lena Stein.
- UTSA scored in the 83rd minute to extend its lead.
- The Owls ended the game with nine shots and two corner kicks.
