Owls in the NFL: Week 4

10.3.23 | Football

PHILADELPHIA- We are now nearly a quarter of the way through the NFL season with Week 4 coming to an end. Here is a look at how some of our former Owls performed.

Arnold Ebiketie (2017-20) and the Atlanta Falcons lost to former Owls' Brandon McManus (2009-12), Christian Braswell (2018-20), and the Jacksonville Jaguars, 23-7, in the first London game of the season. The game was heavily promoted as a joint Disney production played in "Andy's room" and each player was also animated. Those watching on Disney+ were able to see a lot of McManus who was featured throughout. In the game, Ebiketie had one tackle while McManus scored 11 points (3 FGs and 2 PATs), including a 56-yarder.

Haason Reddick (2013-16) and the Philadelphia Eagles beat NFC East division rivals, the Washington Commanders, 34-31, in an overtime thriller. Reddick had two tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss, and one quarterback hit. Reddick and the Eagles will head to the Los Angeles Rams in week 5 as one of the two undefeated teams remaining.

Dion Dawkins (2013-16) and Tyler Matakevich (2012-15) were able to lead the Buffalo Bills to a commanding 48-20 victory over AFC East division rivals, the Miami Dolphins. The Bills offense had 30 minutes of possession and gained over 400 yards. Matakevich continued his outstanding work on special teams.

Rock Ya-Sin (2018) and the Baltimore Ravens dominated AFC North division rivals, the Cleveland Browns, 28-3. Ya-Sin recorded one tackle.

Sam Franklin (2016-19) and the Carolina Panthers lost to the Minnesota Vikings, 21-13. Franklin recorded four tackles, one pass defended, and set a Panthers' franchise record with a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Jacob Martin (2014-17) and the Indianapolis Colts lost to the Los Angeles Rams, 29-23 in overtime.

Keith Kirkwood (2014-17) and the New Orleans Saints lost to NFC South division rivals, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Todd Bowles (1982-85), 26-9.
