Women's Soccer Falls to ECU in North Carolina

GREENVILLE, NC.– Temple women's soccer (2-8-3) (0-4-0 AAC) recorded a 4-0 loss against the ECU Pirates (8-2-3) (3-0-1). ECU is Temple's second opponent from North Carolina this season.  
 
How it Happened  
- The half began with the ball in the Owl's defensive end. There were no shots from either team within the first ten minutes of the match. 
- Jessica Carrieri knocked a solid cross off in the 26th minute, marking one of Temple's few chances in the first twenty minutes of the game. 
- ECU scored a goal in the 22nd minute.  
- Tamsin Bynoe made four saves throughout the first half. 
- ECU scored a second goal in the 46th minute and a third goal in the 48th minute.  
- Alexa Swetz took a corner kick for the Owls. 
- ECU scored a fourth goal in the 53rd minute.  
- Carrieri and Sabrina Campbell each took a close-range shot that was blocked by the goalkeeper.  
- The Cherry and White picked up momentum and generated multiple scoring opportunities toward the end of the second half. 
- Temple ended the game with seven shots and four corner kicks.

Game Notes 
- Yazmeen Smith started her first game of the season.  
- Campbell logged her first shot on goal for Temple. 
- Bynoe started her eighth game of the season,  making five saves for the Cherry and White.  
- Phoebe Hollin has kicked 53 corner kicks for the Cherry and White this season, taking two against ECU.  
- There was two yellow cards issued throughout the match.  

Up Next 
The Owls will host the Rice Owls at TSC next Thursday. The Owls' will face off at 7PM. The match will stream on ESPN+. Admission is free for all fans.
