PHILADELPHIA - With the start of the 2023 XFL Season, two former Owls are active in the league and helped their teams to victories in the openers..
 
Running back, Ryquell Armstead (2015-18) and the D.C. Defenders beat the Seattle Sea Dragons, 22-18. Armstead had 8 rushes for 30 yards, leading his team in rushing yards. He also averaged 3.8 yards per carry and had a long rush of 11 yards.
 
Linebacker, Isaiah Graham-Mobley (2017-20) and the Arlington Renegades beat the Vegas Vipers, 22-20.
 
The XFL has relaunched for the third time, this time under new ownership headlined by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Besides the four aforementioned teams, there are four others: the Houston Roughnecks, Orlando Guardians, San Antonio Brahmas, and St. Louis BattleHawks. Each team will play a 10-game schedule before the playoffs begin.
