2.20.23 | Women's Lacrosse

IRVING, Texas – After posting a dominant 15-6 win over George Washington on Saturday, two Owls were awarded AAC Weekly Honors. Belle Mastropietro headlined the week, earning AAC Midfielder of the Week honors, while Katie Shallow was placed on the Weekly Honor Roll, her second weekly recognition of the season.

Mastropietro had a standout performance in the Cherry and White, netting six goals while dishing out two assists to lead the team in points, with eight. This eight-point performance proves to be a career best for the Springfield, Pa., native, beating her previous best of seven-points that came in both 2021 and 2022. Outside of her scoring efforts, she grabbed six draw controls and two groundballs. Mastropietro has advanced to 15 points on the season, sitting at second in the conference in goals per game (3.67).

Shallow continued to showcase her defensive excellence, headlining an Owl defense that only allowed for thirteen shots in comparison to Temple's 35. The junior recorded two caused turnovers and six draw controls. With this, Shallow advances to eight caused turnovers on the season to lead the AAC.

The Owls will return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 22, traveling to Delaware to face off against the Blue Hens at 4 p.m. The game will be broadcast live from FloSports/Lacrosse TV.
