Mastropietro Named AAC Midfielder of the Week, Shallow Named to Weekly Honor Roll

IRVING, Texas – For the second straight week, Belle Mastropietro and Katie Shallow picked up weekly honors from the American Athletic Conference. Mastropietro earned Midfielder of the Week honors, while Shallow was placed on the Weekly Honor Roll. This serves as Shallow's third weekly award from the conference in three possible weeks.
Mastropietro had a solid all-around performance in the Cherry and White's 1-1 week, netting four goals and adding two assists for six points. In addition, she grabbed five ground balls and caused five turnovers, which included a five caused turnover performance against Delaware. Where the senior truly stood out was the draw circle, grabbing 21 draw controls between the two games, including 15 against No. 17 Princeton. She now leads the team with 21 points on 15 goals and six assists in five games.
Shallow shined for the Cherry and White once again, earning two caused turnovers, seven draw controls, and five groundballs in the 1-1 week. In addition, the junior netted her first career goal, scoring just nine seconds in to play in the 9-7 win over Delaware.
The Owls will return to play on Saturday, Mar. 4 as they host city foe, Saint Joseph's at Howarth Field. First draw is set for 12 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
