Temple Football Adds Two to Support Staff

2.8.23 | Football

PHILADELPHIA – Temple Football head coach Stan Drayton has announced two additions to his football staff. C.J. McFarland has joined the program as an assistant strength and conditioning coach and Joshua Phillips has been added as video coordinator.

"I am pleased to add both C.J. and Josh to the staff," said Drayton. "C.J. has spent time in college and the NFL, so he knows how to train football players at the highest level of the sport. Josh has learned his craft at two prominent college football programs. The additions of these men will make us a better football program."

McFarland comes to Temple after spending the past two seasons at LSU. Prior to that time, he spent six seasons as the head strength and conditioning coach at a private gym in Austin, Texas, while serving internships with both the Cincinnati Bengals and Carolina Panthers.

Phillips, a native of Spring City, returns to Pennsylvania to take over as Temple's video coordinator. He spent the past five seasons in the video departments at Penn State and Clemson while working on his undergraduate and master's degrees.

Temple has begun its offseason workouts and will begin official spring practices later this month. The 2023 Cherry & White Spring Game is scheduled for Saturday, April 8, at Chodoff Field at Edberg Olson Hall.
