GENEVA, N.Y. — 17 Owls are among the 965 student-athletes from 77 Division I institutions to be named to the 2022 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.
The NFHCA National Academic Squad program, sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, honors undergraduate collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year, and were nominated by their NFHCA member coach.
Davidson College, Harvard University, and Wagner College had the most National Academic Squad selections this year with 19 student-athletes on the list. Rutgers University had the second-most National Academic Squad selections this year, placing 18 student-athletes on the list.
Appearing on the list for the fourth time are 179 student-athletes — undergraduate four-year honorees have been distinguished in the award listing.
Sydney Beck, Molly Frey, Emma Nesbitt, and Megan Phillips all earned the honor for the fourth year in a row.
Three Division I academic awards remain to be announced — the NFHCA Scholars of Distinction will be announced on February 16, the NFHCA National Academic Team awards on February 21, and the National Scholar-Athlete on February 22.
