Golf's Ethan Whitney Named to AAC All-Conference Team

PHILADELPHIA - The American Athletic Conference released its Awards and All-Conference team for Men's Golf on Tuesday morning. Sophomore Ethan Whitney was named as a member of the All-Conference team for the 2022-23 season.

"We are so happy for Ethan being named All Conference," said Temple head coach Brian Quinn.  "Ethan is a wonderful player with a ton of talent.  If he continues to work hard the sky is the limit!"

Whitney, a native of Massachusetts, posted a stroke average of 72.60 in 35 rounds. Whitney had three top-five finishes on the season, including winning the Cornell/Temple Fall Invite at -5 for his first collegiate tournament win. Ethan Whitney finished -3 at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto and in 5th place. Ethan Whitney finished at -2 and in fifth place at the AAC Championship. Whitney joined former Owl, Brandon Matthews, as the only two Temple golfers to finish under par at the AAC Championship. Matthews, a current member of the PGA Tour, posted a -3 in 2015-16 and finished in fifth place.

Whitney was also a part of of Temple history this season. For the first time in Temple history, three golfers finished the season with stroke averages of 73 or lower, Graham Chase (72.31), Conor McGrath (72.34), and Whitney (72.60).
