Eight Owls Earn Preseason All-AAC Recognition from Athlon

PHILADELPHIA – Athlon Sports Publications released its 2023 American Athletic Conference All-Conference teams this week including eight Temple Owls.

Earning first-team recognition was graduate outside linebacker Layton Jordan. Jordan finished the 2022 season with career-highs in sacks (9.0), TFLs (18.5), and tackles (53). He also intercepted two passes, which he returned for touchdowns, and added another score on a fumble return.

Inside linebacker Jordan Magee earned second-team honors. The redshirt junior started all 12 games in 2022 pacing the Owls with 86 tackles.

Redshirt senior wide receiver Amad Anderson Jr., graduate tight end David Martin-Robinson, redshirt sophomore cornerback Jalen McMurray, and graduate kicker Camden Price all landed third-team recognition.

A pair of redshirt seniors, tight end Jordan Smith and defensive lineman Jerquavion Mahone, round out the list with fourth-team honors.
