7.26.23 | Women's Lacrosse

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass.  – Temple lacrosse posted yet another outstanding performance in the classroom during the 2022-23 academic year. The program earned recognition from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association as a Division I Academic Honor Squad. In addition to the team honor, eight Owls were named to the Division I Academic Honor Roll.

The IWLCA has named 287 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as IWLCA Academic Honor Squads for the 2022-23 academic year. To qualify for this honor, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year. For the second straight year, the Owls soared past this marker, earning a 3.51 GPA for the year. Temple also placed the following eight athletes on the Academic Honor Roll:

Mia Ciancio JR Health Professions
Gabrielle Kirsch GR Management
Taylor Moncman JR Health Studies
Mackenzie Roth SR Health Professions
Hannah Schrader JR Speech Language Hearing Science/Nutrition
Kathleen Shallow JR Finance
Maeve Tobin SR Finance
Camryn Zavacky JR Management Information Systems/Business Analytics

To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater. This is only the most recent academic honor for the Temple lacrosse program. Lacrosse had all 30 of its student-athletes earn AAC All-Academic Team Honors in July. Additionally, senior midfielder Belle Mastropietro was named to the PhillySida Academic All-Area team. It was officially announced in June that she would be returning for a fifth year alongside three of her classmates.
