Women's Soccer to Host Lehigh on Thursday Night

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple women's soccer team continues their home appearances Thursday as the Owls face off against, city rivals, Lehigh University. This is the Women's Racial Equity Match for the Owls, highlighting the importance of achieving a level playing field in all areas of life regardless of race.   

Scouting Temple 
 - The Owls suffered a 0-3 loss to Villanova on Sunday, generating six shots throughout the match.
- Tamsin Bynoe has made 24 saves throughout the past four games, divided between nine saves over the first halves and 15 over the second halves.
 - The Cherry & White offense has totaled 26 shots over the four-game span, with 11 shots in half one and 15 in half two. 
 - Jessica Carrieri leads the team in shots (6). 
 
Scouting Lehigh 

- The Mountain Hawks stand at 1-0-3 at the start of the season, with ties against Cornell University and St. Joseph's University. 
- Lehigh finished fourth in the Patriot League conference last season and opened the 2023 season with a 0-3 loss against Monmouth College. 
- The team returns Maggie Ousouljoglou, a sophomore goalkeeper, who has started 17 games through two seasons at Lehigh and obtained a 70% save percentage last season. 
- The team also returns Corinne Lyght, a junior forward, who was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year, first team All-League and Patriot League All-Tournament Team in 2022.  
- Lauren Calabrese is the fifth head coach in Lehigh women's soccer history. She recently joined the Mountain Hawk's staff as the team's head coach after six seasons as associate head coach, where she helped lead the team to the title game in 2018. In her first season as head coach, Calabrese led the team to the Patriot League semi-finals.
