Women's Soccer Ties La Salle on Sunday Afternoon

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's soccer (1-4-3) recorded a 2-2 draw against the La Salle Explorers. This was the sixth home game of the season and second straight draw against a Philly Soccer Six opponent.
 
How it Happened  
- The first half started off fast, with a free kick for Temple marking its first scoring opportunity. 
- Jessica Carrieri and Nicole Sweeney kicked two shots within the first 20 minutes.  
- Taylor Vecchione secured a high-central shot from the Explorers, logging her first save of the game. 
- The Owls ended the half with a total of seven shots.  
- Sumaya Togba scored her first goal of the season within the first minute of the second half, netting the ball to the back left corner. Sweeney earned her first assist of the season, setting the shot up for Togba.  
- The Explorers found the equalizer at the 50-minute mark. 
- Beky Myers netted her second goal of the season to the top right corner, setting the score 2-1.  
- La Salle scored their second goal with two minutes left in the match. 

 Game Notes 
- The Owls reached a new season high of two goals scored in single game. 
- Temple fired the most shots on goal (six) against the Explorers out of the games they have played thus far.
- Vecchione made five saves in her 90 minutes on the pitch, tying her season-high for the third game.
