Women's Soccer Falls in Conference Opener Against South Florida

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's soccer (1-5-3) fell 2-1 at home against the South Florida Bulls Thursday night. This was the first conference game of the season.
How it Happened
- The first half opened with a drive by the Owls. Shari Atkins took a shot, which was saved by the Bulls' goalkeeper.
- Taylor Vecchione made five saves for the Owls throughout the first 45 minutes, but USF would head into the break with a 2-0 lead.
- Temple started the second half with two shots in the first five minutes.
- Phoebe Hollin kicked four consecutive corners for the Owls within the same minute.
- Nicole Sweeney scored a penalty goal for the Owls, kicking the ball high to the back of the net.

- Sweeney scored her second goal of the season.
- Hollin kicked all seven corner kicks for the Owls. She has taken every corner kick within the past nine games.
