Women's Soccer to Host La Salle on Sunday

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple women's soccer team will host its  fifth home game against La Salle on Sunday. This match marks the fourth city rivalry game and the second family day this season. Â
Scouting TempleÂ
- The Owls tied the Saint Joseph's Hawks 1-1 on Thursday evening, generating seven shots on goal and seven corner kicks. Temple stands at a record of 1-4-2.Â
- Beky Myers scored her first goal for Temple by plastering a ball to the upper left corner of the net. This marks the Owls' second goal of the season.
- On offense, Shari Atkins remains Temple's shot leader with nine attempts. Phoebe Hollin tails Atkins with six from the back-line.
- Taylor Vecchione and Tamsin Bynoe have split the net to start the young season. Vecchione logged her first full 90 minutes against the Hawks, making five saves. Bynoe has made 31 saves in her 417 minutes on the pitch.
Scouting La Salle
- The Explorers stand at a record of 2-4-1 to start the season.
- La Salle finished tenth in the Atlantic 10 conference last season and opened the 2023 season with a 1-2 loss against Towson.
- The team returns Michela Auguadro, a junior goalkeeper, who appeared in 28 games throughout her first two years  with the Explorers. She holds a saving average of 76. 3%, and was named to the A10 Commissioner's Honor Roll last season.
- The team also returns Haley Gschrey, a junior forward, who has two goals on the board thus far. Last season, Gschrey scored the second most goals on the team (4).
