Men's Tennis to Open 2024 Season Against NSU and ODU this Weekend

PHILADELPHIA- To start the 2024 spring season, Temple (0-0) will venture on a two-game road skid this weekend, beginning with a match against Norfolk State University (0-0) at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center on Friday, Jan. 19 at 4 p.m. The Owls will then stay in Norfolk, Va. to face Old Dominion Unversity (0-0) on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 12 p.m.
THE OWLS
- After a 19-5 season, without a loss at home, Temple fell to No. 1 Memphis at USTA Tennis Center in the opening round of the AAC Championship, 4-2.
- In the fall, Temple sent two student-athletes to Tulsa, OK to participate in the ITA-All American Championship Tournament: Gregoire Barety and Dante Russo.
- As a team, the Owls kept busy in the fall. They participated in the Penn Invite playing the likes of the University of Pennsylvania, Dartmouth, Liberty from Sept. 15-17, the ITA All-American Championship Tournament in Oklahoma from Oct. 1-3, and both Navy Invitationals from Oct. 15-17 and Nov. 9-11.Scouting Norfolk State

- The Spartans finished the 2023 spring season with an overall record of 4-16.
- The doubles pairing of Federico Rebecchini and Adam Kaczmarek advanced to the MEAC semi-finals, with Rebbicini falling to No.1 SCSU in his final match of the season.
Scouting Old Dominion
- Two doubles pairings, the Van Schalkwyk brothers and Cadonau/Rolland De Ravel earned No. 6 and No. 33 rankings on ITA Fall Rankings.
- The Monarchs ended their 2023 spring season with a final record of 18-10.
- ODU captured the Sun Belt crown, winning the conference in playoffs over No. 63 South Alabama, Georgia State, and JMU. The Monarchs also participated in the NCAA Tournament, falling to No. 17 Utah in the first round.
