Women's Tennis to Play Second Match of the Season Against Princeton Tigers

PHILADELPHIA- Temple women's tennis (0-1) will take a short road trip to Jadwin Gymnasium in Princeton, N.j. to face Princeton University (2-1) on Friday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. This marks the second match of the season.
THE OWLS
- In Temple's season opener, the tandem of Evie Wei/Jessie Zheng achieved a 6-3 victory against the Rams in doubles action.
- Temple finished the 2023 season with a 17-5 overall record, winning all but one match at home.
- Nationally ranked as No. 9, the Owls advanced to the quarter finals of the AAC Tournament in Orlando, Fl., where they fell to No. 1 SMU, 4-0.
- The doubles pairing of Maiko Uchijima and Jamie Wei achieved the NCAA Tournament Round of 32, where they fell to No. 2. Michigan, 6-1, 6-1.
- As a team, Temple completed an intense fall season, where it played in the Penn Invitational from Sept. 8-10, the Villanova Invitational from Sept. 15-17, the Cissie Leary Invitational from Sept. 22-24, ITA Regionals from Oct. 6-8, the Princeton Invitational from Oct. 13-15, ITA Super-Regionals from Nov. 1-5, and the doubles pair of Samantha Nanere and Maiko Uchijima earned an invitation to the ITA National Fall Championships where they achieved the Round of 8. In November, the pair was ranked No. 20 in National Doubles Rankings.

- In ITA singles rankings, Madeleine Jessup is tabbed at No. 93.
