Mauro Announces Signing of Martyna Mackiewicz

PHILADELPHIA- Head Coach Steve Mauro has announced the signing of Martyna Mackiewicz to the Temple women's tennis team.
A native of Sopot, Poland, Mackiewicz advanced to semifinals in W15 Monastir doubles, and quarterfinals in J60 Tirana singles her senior year. Throughout her junior year, Mackiewicz qualified for third place in doubles of the National Championships of Poland, semifinals in J5 Puszczykowo doubles, earned first place in J5 Bergen singles, J60 Szczecin and J60 Oslo doubles, and second place in J60 Malmo and J100 Poznan doubles. Sophomore year, she advanced to semifinals in J5 Stavanger, Puszczykowo, and Bergen doubles, first place in Tennis Europe U16 G3 and TE G1 U16 in Memorial doubles, and second place in J5 Puszczykowo and J4 Arhus doubles. Mackiewicz advanced to semifinals in Ferona Slovan Open, Krakow Cup, and Szczawno Zdroj Cup U14 singles, quarterfinals in J4 Sobota, J5 Puszczykowo, Ukranian Junior Open G1 singles and Pecin Memorial G2 Pancevo doubles, and first place in Siauliai U16 G2, Ferona Slovan Open, Krakow Cup, and Szczawno Zdroj Cup U14 doubles her freshman year.
"We are very pleased that Martyna has signed with Temple University," said Mauro. "She had a tremendous junior career, and her skill set is very advanced. She will definitely help take our team to the next level."
