Owls in the NFL Week 10

11.12.24 | Football

Week 10 of the NFL season is behind us as the league wrapped up its last international game of 2024, a game that gave us the first Owl to play overseas this season. With seven weeks to go, let's see how our Owls are progressing.

Sam Franklin Jr. (2016-19) and the Carolina Panthers traveled to Germany's Allianz Arena in Munich and earned an overtime win over the Giants, 20-17. Franklin Jr. recorded his first tackle of the season, and coincidentally, are 2-0 since Franklin's return from injured reserve. Franklin Jr. is the first Temple Owl to play a regular season game internationally this season.

San Francisco's Rock Ya-Sin (2015-18) made a game-saving pass deflection at the goaline with less than a minute left in the fourth quarter. Ya-Sin's third down stop was pivotal in forcing overtime where the 49ers would pull off the 23-20 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Chicago's Jacob Martin (2014-17) recorded his season-high three tackles on Sunday against New England. Martin also recorded his second sack of the season and the team's only sack in the 19-3 loss at home.

New York's Haason Reddick (2013-16) recorded his season high two tackles in the Jets' 31-6 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Kenny Yeboah (2016-19) did not have any receptions.

Atlanta's Arnold Ebiketie (2017-20) was held without a tackle for the first time since early October in a 20-17 loss to New Orleans. Matt Hennessy (2016-19) did not play for Atlanta.

Tennessee's David Martin-Robinson (2018-23) did not see any action in the Titans' 27-17 road loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Detroit's Michael Niese (2016-21) did not play on Sunday in the Lions' last second 26-23 win against the Houston Texans.

Pittsburgh's Tyler Matakevich (2012-15) was activated from injury reserve prior to the Steelers' 28-27 victory against Jordan Magee's (2019-23) Washington Commanders. Matakevich saw his first action after missing the last seven games after suffering a hamstring injury early in the season.

Buffalo's Dion Dawkins (2013-16) hustled to the second level of the Colts' defense to clear a path for Josh Allen's 13-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter. Dawkins and the Bills offensive line helped create holes in the defense for 135 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns in a 30-20 win at Indianapolis.

Green Bay's Brandon McManus (2009-12) and the Packers were on a bye this week. They'll return next week in a rivalry game against the Chicago Bears.
There are four Owls currently on practice squad rosters:
  • Shaun Bradley – (2016-19) Houston Texans
  • Christian Braswell – (2017-20) Jacksonville Jaguars
  • Keith Kirkwood (2014-17) – Baltimore Ravens
  • William Kwenkeu (2016-21) – Baltimore Ravens
