Owls in the NFL - Week 12

11.26.24 | Football

The NFL season finished its final games before the start of the holiday season. Many of our Owls were on a bye this week, while others are giving thanks a bit early as they're approaching season and career highs in what has been, for a few, a short season due to injury and holdouts.

Chicago's Jacob Martin (2014-17) broke into the backfield to record a sack in a 30-27 overtime loss to the Vikings. Martin has three sacks on the season and has only played in five games this year after missing the first part of the season with a toe injury. Martin is now one sack away from tying his career high.

Carolina's Sam Franklin Jr. (2016-19) had a season high four tackles in a 30-27 last minute loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Franklin Jr.'s four tackle game comes on the heels of a foot injury that sidelined the veteran safety at the beginning of the season.

Green Bay's Brandon McManus (2009-12) netted five out of five PATs in Sunday's 38-10 win against San Francisco. The veteran kicker also nailed a 51-yard field goal finishing the game with his second highest point total (8) of the season. On the opposite sideline was San Francisco's Rock Ya-Sin (2015-18) who finished the game with one tackle.

Washington's Jordan Magee (2019-23) recorded a season-high two tackles in Sunday's heartbreaking 34-26 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

Detroit's Michael Niese (2016-21) did not see the field in Sunday's 24-6 win against the Indianapolis Colts.

Tennessee's David Martin-Robinson (2018-23) has yet to see the field at tight end in the regular season. However, his Titans beat the rival Houston Texans ,32-27.

Pittsburgh's Tyler Matakevich (2012-15) did not record a tackle in the Steelers 24-19 loss to the Cleveland Browns.

Owls on a bye
New York' Jets' Haason Reddick (2013-16) and Kenny Yeboah (2016-19) had a bye week and will return for week 13 action against the Seattle Seahawks.

Buffalo's Dion Dawkins (2013-16) was also on a bye this week and will return to face Ya-sin and the 49ers next Sunday night.

Arnold Ebiketie (2017-20) and the Atlanta Falcons will return from their bye week to face the Los Angeles Chargers.

There are five Owls currently on practice squad rosters:
  • Shaun Bradley (2016-19) - Houston Texans
  • Christian Braswell (2017-20) - Jacksonville Jaguars
  • Matt Hennessy (2016-19) – Atlanta Falcons
  • Keith Kirkwood (2014-17) – Baltimore Ravens
