Owls in the NFL Week 9

11.5.24 | Football

We're now more than halfway through the NFL season and our guys are now looking to position their team to win more games with the hope of making the playoffs. Here's a week 9 update on our Owls in the NFL.

Green Bay's Brandon McManus (2009-12) went 2-3 in Sunday's 24-14 loss to the Detroit Lions. McManus hit field goals from 30 yards and 38 yards, respectively. On the other sideline, Detroit offensive lineman Michael Niese (2021) did not see any on-field action this week.

New York Jets' Haason Reddick (2013-16) started to find his groove in a 21-13 win over the Texans on Thursday night. Reddick was credited for half a sack for a four-yard loss. On the offensive side, Jets' tight end Kenny Yeboah (2016-19) grabbed his first reception of the season on a 12-yard grab in the fourth quarter. Yeboah's third down catch helped continue what became the game-winning drive for the Jets third win of the season.

Atlanta's Arnold Ebiketie (2017-20) broke through the Dallas offensive line to get home for his first sack of the season. Ebiketie finished the Falcons' 27-21 win over the Cowboys tying his season-high in tackles with five. Matt Hennessy (2015-19) also saw action in the Falcons win.

Joining Reddick and Ebiketie, Chicago's Jacob Martin also recorded his first sack of the season. He also notched three tackles n the Bears 29-9 loss at Arizona.

Washington's Jordan Magee (2019-23) landed his second tackle of the season in what was the rookie's second career game, a 27-22 road win over the Giants. Magee missed the first seven weeks of the season dealing with a knee injury.

Carolina's Sam Franklin Jr. (2016-19) served on special teams this week and did not record any tackles in the Panthers' 23-22 win over the New Orleans Saints.

Buffalo's Dion Dawkins (2013-16) and the Bills offensive line only allowed one sack in its 30-27 win over the Dolphins. The clean pocket allowed for 235 passing yards and three receiving touchdowns including a 63-yard touchdown pass to Ray Davis (2019-20). Buffalo earned its fourth straight win and completed the sweep against its division rival.

Tennessee's rookie tight end David Martin-Robinson (2018-23) has yet to make his regular season debut but his Titans defeated New England, 20-17.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and linebacker Tyler Matakevich (2012-15) are on a bye for week 9. Matakevich will look to return to action in week 10 against Magee and the Washington Commanders.

San Francisco's Rock Ya-Sin (2015-18) is also on a bye for week 9 and will return next week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

There are four Owls currently on practice squad rosters:
  • Shaun Bradley – (2016-19) Houston Texans
  • Christian Braswell – (2017-20) Jacksonville Jaguars
  • Keith Kirkwood (2014-17) – Baltimore Ravens
