Owls in the NFL - Week 14

12.10.24 | Football

Week 14 of the NFL season is now behind us. This week, we saw a few of our Owls go head-to-head while one made his return to Lincoln Financial Field. We've got plenty of other updates, so let's look back at week 14.

Carolina's Sam Franklin Jr. (2016-19) made his return to Philadelphia this week for the first time in his five-year NFL career. Franklin Jr. recorded one assisted tackle in Sunday's nail-biting 22-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Green Bay's Brandon McManus (2009-12) was perfect in the Packers 34-31 loss to the Detroit Lions. McManus netted all four of his extra point attempts and nailed a 32-yard field goal that tied the game late in the fourth quarter. Detroit's Michael Niese (2016-21) was on the opposite sideline, but did not see any game action this week.

Chicago's Jacob Martin (2014-17) did not record any tackles in the Bears' 38-13 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. San Francisco's Rock Ya-Sin (2015-18) was active on the other sideline, but did not play in this game.

Atlanta's Arnold Ebiketie (2017-20) broke into the backfield for a sack that pushed the Vikings' offense back six yards. Ebiketie now has four sacks in the last four games including a two-sack game last week. Ebiketie also had a pass deflection in the 42-21 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Harrison Hand (2019) remains on injured reserve for the Falcons.

New York Jets' Haason Reddick (2013-16) matched his season-high two tackles in the Jets' 32-26 loss to the Miami Dolphins. On the offensive side, Kenny Yeboah (2016-19) didn't record any receptions in this game.

Despite a 44-42 loss, Buffalo's Dion Dawkins (2013-16) and the Bills helped generate three rushing touchdowns, and more than 100 yards rushing against the Los Angeles Rams. Dawkins was specifically pivotal in sealing the defensive lineman on a screen pass that resulted in a 41-yard touchdown for the Bills.

Washington's Jordan Magee (2019-23) was on a bye this week and will return to action next week against the New Orleans Saints.

Tennessee's David Martin-Robinson (2018-23) saw some action in Sunday's 10-6 loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The rookie was targeted once in the game, but did not grab any receptions in a low scoring game.

Pittsburgh's Tyler Matakevich (2012-15) recorded his second tackle since returning from a hamstring injury last month. He finished the 27-14 win over the Browns with one solo tackle, his fourth of the season.

There are five Owls currently on practice squad rosters:
  • Shaun Bradley (2016-19) - Houston Texans
  • Christian Braswell (2017-20) - Jacksonville Jaguars
  • Matt Hennessy (2016-19) – Atlanta Falcons
  • Keith Kirkwood (2014-17) – Baltimore Ravens
  • William Kwenkeu (2016-21) – Baltimore Ravens
