Maes Named to NFHCA All-American Third Team

12.17.24 | Field Hockey

PHILADELPHIA – Alizé Maes has been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-American Third Team for the 2024 season. Maes is the 31st Owl to receive All-American honors in the history of Temple Field Hockey.

This marks the first time an Owl has been named to an All-American team since 2015 when Alyssa Delp was also named to the third team.

The senior defender from Vremde, Antwerp, Belgium has a career season in 2024. The reigning BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year played and started in all 20 games for the Cherry and White this season. Maes sat at the helm of a defense that led the BIG EAST in shutouts, and only allowed 12 goals in conference play.

The defender also stood out on the offensive side of the field. Maes led Temple in points (20) and was tied for the team lead with seven goals. Maes tallied three game-winning goals in 2024, including one in double-overtime to top Wagner.
