- A tip-in layup from junior Elijah Gray and a jumper by Jamal Mashburn Jr. finally put the Owls in front at 72-71 with 5:36 to go.
- Dezonie came through again four minutes later, as his short jumper from the baseline tied the game at 79-79.
- The score remained tied with less than 30 seconds to go when a four-point play from URI's Sebastian Thomas put the Rams in front for good.
- Dezonie scored 17 points in 23 minutes off the bench, shooting 7-for-9 from the floor and connecting on a pair of threes.
- Gray and Battie were impressive as a reserve forward duo, combining for 16 points (7-for-8 FG) and seven rebounds.
