Owls Improve to 2-0 With Win over Binghamton

PHILADELPHIA - Three players netted hat tricks as the Temple women's lacrosse team took an 15-6 win over Binghamton on Wednesday afternoon at Howarth Field. The Owls improved to 2-0 with the win.
Julie Schickling tied a career high with four goals, leading all players. Belle Mastropietro and Amelia Wright scored three goals apiece, and Mackenzie Roth posted six points (2 G, 4 A). Katie Shallow anchored the defense with eight ground balls and six caused turnovers.
How it Happened
> Binghamton scored first at the 9:22 mark, holding the lead until back-to-back goals by Mastropietro and Wright put the Owls up 2-1 before the end of the first quarter.
> Temple would build on these goals, embarking on an 11-0 run from the end of the first through the first ten minutes of the third.
> Schickling secured her hat trick in the second, scoring three times as the Owls extended their lead to 8-1 at halftime. The Temple defense held Binghamton to just one shot in the second quarter.
> Mastropietro, Roth, and Schickling each scored early in the third before the Bearcats responded with two of their own. The Owls added four more in the fourth, with Sabrina Martin and Emily Liberio each scoring their first goals of the season.

> Roth's four assists raise her career total to 82, seven shy of the program record held by Gail Cummings (1985-88).
