2.19.24 | Women's Lacrosse

IRVING, Tex. - Katie Shallow earned her second consecutive AAC Defensive Player of the Week honor to start 2024, announced by the conference on Monday. Belle Mastropietro also took home her second straight conference weekly honor roll nod.

Shallow totaled ten gorund balls and nine caused turnovers in two games last week, helping the Owls hold Binghamton and Manhattan to a combined 12 goals across 120 minutes of action. The senior defender ranks in the top five in the nation in both categories, and her 98 career caused turnovers are tied for the most in program history. She needs two more CT's to become the third active player to reach 100 for their career.

Mastropietro led the Owls with ten total points last week on the strength of six goals and four assists. She leads Temple with eight goals through three games and was named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List after Friday's win over Manhattan. The grad student midfielder recently moved into eighth in program history with 154 career goals, and is eighth among active Division I players with her 294 career draw controls.

Shallow, Mastropietro, and the rest of the Owls will be back in action this Wednesday at Howarth Field when they host Delaware at 3:00pm.
